Baker is now 9-2-1 overall and sits atop first-place in the Heart of America Athletic Conference standings with a 3-0 mark.
With the loss, MNU falls to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in the HAAC. Alexa Fryer put the Wildcats ahead for good with two early goals in the first half. The first coming in the sixth minute with the assist going to teammate Taylor Hensel.
Then Fryer knocked in her team leading 10th goal in the 12th minute to put Baker up 2-0 with the assist this time coming to Amber Pickering.
Right after halftime in the 47th minute Finola Corley put the Wildcats up 3-0 with a goal and followed that up 11 minutes later with a goal past keeper Breanna Oddo and the assist was recorded by Jordan Dolbin.
The final goal of the night came in the 63rd minute. Dolbin squared up for a free kick from about 30 yards out and sent a strike into the hands of Oddo, but the keeper couldn’t corral it in and it went into the net for Dolbin’s sixth goal of the season.
The Wildcats took 17 shots as a team and allowed just six, three in the first half and three in the second. Theobald collected her fourth shutout of the year with three saves.
Baker fell one spot in this week’s NAIA Top 25 Coaches’ Poll to No. 14 and will now take on No. 17 ranked Graceland University this Saturday at 5 p.m.
