Dunn and Janssens named NSCAA All-Region
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Two Baker women's soccer players have been named to the 2009 NSCAA All-North Plains Region team.
Juniors Chelsea Dunn, Liberty, Mo., and Christine Janssens, Kansas City, Mo., represented the Wildcats.
Dunn was also selected as a 2009 Adidas-NAIA honorable mention All-American. Dunn, the Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year, led the Wildcats to four shutouts over top-25 programs this season.

Graceland takes down Baker in HAAC title game
LAMONI, Iowa - It was the Chelsea Phillips show in Lamoni, Iowa, on Saturday afternoon. Phillips scored both goals for the Yellow Jackets as they assured themselves a spot in the NAIA national tournament.
Gina Schiraldi and Alix Schiraldi each recorded three shots on goal, which were saved by Graceland goal keeper Leslie Danner. Danner recorded nine saves on the day.
Baker now awaits its postseason fate. The national teams will be selected tomorrow afternoon in Kansas City, Mo.

Baker advances to HAAC title game
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The Baker women's soccer team advanced to the HAAC title game on Thursday evening after defeating William Jewell College in a double-overtime thriller.
Baker started the scoring in the second half when Rachel Shepard netted a goal on a cross from Jen Sampson.
Thirty minutes later William Jewell tied the score on a goal from Sali Stout.
The action remained tied into the second overtime until Ashley Ukena scored the game-winning goal on an assist from team captain Alix Schiraldi.

Women's soccer to host semifinal tonight
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Baker women's soccer will have their shot at advancing to the HAAC title game tonight when they face William Jewell College in the semifinals
The Wildcats (12-6, 6-3 HAAC) are led by Alix Schiraldi, who currently has nine goals on the season. Chelsea Dunn (pictured), HAAC Defensive Player of the Year will lead the defense
William Jewell College (12-5, 5-3 HAAC) are led by Nicole Littel, who also currently sits at nine goals on the season.

Dunn named HAAC Defensive Player of the Year
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - Not only did the Baker women earn a bye in the first round of the HAAC playoffs, they also raked in the postseason awards. Center back Chelsea Dunn (pictured) was named HAAC Defensive Player of the Year on Wednesday evening. Dunn continues to lead a Baker defense that has recorded four shutouts over top 25 programs this season.

Baker rolls Culver-Stockton on Senior Night
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – After a scoreless first half that was directly into a westerly wind, Baker got things rolling in the second half.
Jenny Haynes got the scoring started 8 minutes in when she received a cross from Christine Janssens to give the Wildcats the 1-0 lead. From that point on Baker didn’t look back.
Christine Janssens netted a goal 14 minutes later on a pass from the corner by Alix Schiraldi (pictured) that just slipped past the Culver-Stockton goalkeeper into the left corner of the net.

Lindenwood upsets No. 15 Baker
A hat trick by Lindenwood's Kendall Kravec sealed the game Saturday evening in St. Charles, Mo.
Kravec scored all three of the Lions goals for her first hat trick of the season. Heading into the 38th minute Baker was traiing 2-0 before Jen Sampson (pictured) was able to cut the lead in half. The second half of play was dominated by Lindenwood. Kravec scored her third goal of the evening during the 51st minute on an assist from Ashley Tankersley.
With the loss Baker fell to 11-5 overall and 5-2 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. The ’Cats will be back in action Friday evening when they take on Culver-Stockton College.
