Baker women set for final site rematch with Martin Methodist

DECATUR, Ala. – A familiar foe awaits the Baker women’s soccer team as they prepare to face fourth-seeded Martin Methodist (Tenn.) for the second consecutive season at the final site of the 2011 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championships.
No. 13 Baker (14-3-1) defeated unseeded Bellevue (Neb.) 2-1 in the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round on the campus of Baker University Nov. 19.

No. 18 Baker powers past No. 22 Bellevue in NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship Opening Round

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – A persistent and steady attack paced No. 18 Baker University past No. 22 Bellevue University (Neb.) Saturday afternoon at Liston Stadium. With the victory, Baker earned its second straight trip Decatur, Ala., for the final round site of the 2011 NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championships.
Skylar Baker put the Wildcats on the board first with a goal in the 35th minute when Bellevue goalkeeper Caitlin Stier gave up a short rebound on Jordan Dolbin’s blast from 35-yards out.

Baker women defend HAAC tournament crown

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. - The No. 21-ranked Baker University women’s soccer team defended its Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament championship with a 2-1 victory over Graceland on Saturday at Liston Stadium.
“It feels good to vindicate what we did in the regular season,” said Wildcat head coach Nate Houser, who shared the regular-season conference title with Graceland.
The Wildcats rallied after surrendering a goal a minute into the contest when Gisela Arrieta connected from 15 yards out.

Wildcats advance to HAAC Championship game with 2-1 victory over Avila
BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Two first half goals were all the Wildcats needed Thursday evening to move past Avila University into the HAAC Championship game Saturday night against Graceland University.
Alix Schiraldi put the Wildcats on the board first with a goal just seven minutes into the contest after she received a ball in the box from Ashley Ukena.
Women’s soccer teams dominate HAAC awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Baker Univeristy women’s soccer team racked up the annual Heart of America Athletic Conference postseason accolades.
The Baker women had six players named to the all-HAAC squad, along with one Defensive Player of the Year (Maggie Dupes), one Co-Offensive Player of the Year (Alix Schiraldi), and one Coach of the Year award to head coach Nate Houser.

No. 21 Baker defeats Missouri Valley for HAAC title

MARSHALL, Mo. – Ashley Ukena put Baker on the scoreboard first in the 34th minute on goal from Ashley Mauck and Alexa Fryer added an insurance goal in the 41st minute as Baker went on to win the 2011 HAAC Regular Season Conference Championship.
Goalkeeper Maggie Dupes made three saves in the contest to record her second shutout of the season.
Baker (11-3-1, 5-1-1 HAAC) will take the No. 1 overall seed entering the 2011 HAAC Conference Tournament. Brackets will be announced later this week.
