Baker tennis teams making strides heading into spring break trip

Spring Break Trip

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University tennis teams are off to full action after playing their opening matches of the 2012 season.

The Baker women (1-2) opened the season with a 5-4 victory over Stephens College, before dropping back-to-back matches against Rockhurst and Johnson County Community College.

“I’m really looking forward to the rest of our season,” said Baker head tennis coach Joe Ahmadian. “We still have an incomplete line-up heading into our spring break trip, but we should be back at full strength once we get back.”

The Baker men (0-2) lost their season opening matches to Rockhurst and Johnson County Community College.

“We’re definitely going to be more competitive this season,” Ahmadian added of the Baker men. “We have a stronger team and four freshman are starting in our top six.”

Baker will now travel to New Orleans for a spring break trip against Louisiana College on Mar. 10 and Loyola New Orleans on Mar. 12.
