In his first race in a Wildcat uniform, Bryan won the 5K meet over 83 other racers and finished in a time of 16:13, 18 seconds ahead of teammate Aaron Caldwell. Baker actually had the four top finishers in the meet.
Jaqua also won the 2011 Maple Leaf Invitational at Baker’s home course. The junior out of Lansing, Kan., ran the women’s 4K in a time of 15:07. Jaqua earned three HAAC women’s runner of the week awards last season.
Both of Baker’s men’s and women’s teams finished first as a squad on Saturday in the wind and rain and will next take part in the Missouri Southern Stampede race in Joplin, Mo., on Saturday, Sept. 15.
