LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Baker University women’s cross country team finished in first-place out of 12 teams and the men’s team took second out of nine teams to give Baker a 1-2 finish at the Haskeel Indian Nations University Invitational.

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – After leading her team to a second-place finish at the Emporia State University Planet Sub Invite last Friday, Baker University’s Lauren Jaqua earned this Week’s Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week award.

Jaqua takes HAAC crown; women finish second overall

Jaqua and McBride qualify for nationals

FAYETTE, Mo. – The Baker University women’s cross country team took second place overall at the 2011 Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Central Methodist University.

Sophomore Lauren Jaqua took the overall crown with a time of 18:30 in the women’s 5k race. Ashley McBride grabbed a third-place finish with a time of 19:16. Both runners will represent the Wildcats at the 2011 NAIA National Championships.
