The Wildcats, 3-0 in duals in 2010-11 are coming off another successful weekend at the Quality Inn Open where Baker had eight grapplers place.
AJ Gassman (125 lbs) took seventh-place, Jarell Price (149 lbs) third-place, Andrew Hurla (157 lbs) sixth-place, Jake Price (165 lbs) fourth-place, Parker Owen (174 lbs) third-place, Clarence Jordan (184 lbs) fourth-place, Cody Hanel (184 lbs) sixth-place and Dylan Berg (285 lbs) rounded the squad out taking second-place.
“This tournament had 280 entries, many of which were from Division I, II, and III NCAA competition,” said head coach Jimmy May. “The tournament lasted 13 hours and was extremely tough. I am proud of the way our young wrestlers held their own throughout the competition.”
The Wildcats have now qualified 23 wrestlers for the NAIA National Championships, which are to be held March 3-5 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
