The Wildcats will plan on recognizing seniors Adrew Hurla and Levi Calhoun at a later date to be announced by the athletic department.
After just two years in existence as a program, the Baker University wrestling team cracked the NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 poll on Monday afternoon.
“I think it speaks volumes about the effort of our team,” said head coach Jimmy May. “Our guys have worked their heart out all year, it’s just another one of those stepping stones to get our program to where it needs to be.”
Jarell Price (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Levi Calhoun (Moore, Okla.) also enter among the ranked individuals nationally in their respective weight classes. Price currently ranks No. 8 at 149 pounds and Calhoun ranks No. 7 at 285 pounds.
The Wildcats currently hold a 6-0 overall dual record on the year and have qualified 26 wrestlers for NAIA Nationals set to be held March 3-5 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
