No. 14 BU Hosts NAIA Central Regionals

BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – 11 premiere NAIA wrestling programs from six different states will all meet on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Baldwin City, Kan., on the campus of Baker University inside the Collins Center for the NAIA Central Region Qualifying Group Tournament beginning at 9 a.m.

The Wildcats will host the following schools: No. 1 Grand View (Des Moines, Iowa), No. 7 Missouri Valley (Marshall, Mo.), No. 9 Oklahoma City (Oklahoma City, Okla.), No. 14 Baker University (Baldwin City, Kan.), William Penn (Oskalossa, Iowa), Hannibal-LaGrange College (Hannibal, Mo.), Bacone College (Muskogee, Okla.), Bethany College (Lindsborg, Kan.), Benedictine College (Atchison, Kan.), Wayland Baptist (Plainview, Texas) and Central Baptist (Conway, Ark.) on Saturday for the qualifying tournament that will send the top wrestlers to the NAIA National Championships on Friday, Mar. 1 and Saturday, Mar. 2 in Des Moines, Iowa.

"We're really excited about hosting this central regional and we're excited to be competing in it," said Baker head wrestling coach Jimmy May.

"As a team we know we have a lot of tough matches ahead of us, but we are well prepared to give it our best effort," said May.

Tickets for the tournament will be available at the front entrance of the Collins Center at the following prices, Adults $10, college students with ID $5, children under 18 years old $3, military members with ID $3, senior citizens 62 and older and children under five will be admitted free.
