Singer Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete

DES MOINES, Iowa – Baker University senior wrestler Richard Singer was named one of 33 wrestlers from across the country to earn the 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete distinction announced on Friday morning.

The Topeka, Kan., native earned the award by maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, the student-athlete must also have achieved at least a junior academic status.

Seven of Singer's fellow teammates will compete this Friday and Saturday in the 2013 NAIA Wrestling National Championships at the Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa.
