BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Newly hired Baker University head wrestling coach Pete Di Pol announced the signing of Park Hill South High School standout Alex Fortuna.

Fortuna had 128 wins in his career for the Panthers and finished second in the state of Missouri in the 113-pound division at the 2013 State Tournament.

"Alex started competing late in the sport of wrestling and has worked hard to achieve the success he has earned," said Coach Di Pol. "He has been patient and let the sport come to him. He is only going to get better, especially with the work ethic he possess."

Fortuna was also a three-time State qualifier and three-time All-Conference wrestler at Park Hill South.

He recently placed second at the Corn Cob nationals in Des Moines, Iowa and will wrestle at 125-pounds for Coach Di Pol.

The Wildcats are coming off a season in which they were ranked No. 15 in the Final NAIA Wrestling Coaches' Top 20 Poll.
