BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – Newly hired Baker University head wrestling coach Pete Di Pol signed his first recruit from his home state of New Jersey, as Billy Leone signed a letter of intent to join the Wildcats program.

Leone is a graduate of Kingsway High School in Woolwich, N.J. and was a three-time district place winner and won a district championship.

"Billy is a great kid that I had the opportunity to watch wrestle and get to know this past wrestling season," said Di Pol. "We see him still peaking with a desire to become a much improved wrestler; and his style should translate to the college level nicely. We are happy to have Billy join the Baker family and look forward to having his work ethic in the wrestling room."

Leone was also captain of his team at Kingsway and finished second in his regional championship and was a New Jersey state qualifier.
