Wrestling Goes 2-1 at HAAC Quad

MARSHALL, Mo. – The No. 14 ranked Baker University wrestling team went 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at the HAAC quad on the campus of Missouri Valley University.

Baker defeated Graceland University, 49-0, then took down Benedictine, 33-12, before falling to No. 3 ranked Missouri Valley, 24-12.

Jakob Price had a big day for Baker, going 3-0 on the day in the 165-pound weight class and his biggest win of the day came when he defeated James Smith of Missouri Valley in a 5-2 decision.

Freshman Bryce Shoemaker also performed well in the 133-pound class with victories over Todd Brackett of Missouri Valley in an 8-1 decision and he pinned Benedictine's, Clifford Ikenberry.

Aaron Seybold had the other victory for Baker over MVC, as he defeated Dylan King via pin in 1:18.

Against the Ravens, Baker won all but three bouts and against first-year program Graceland, Baker won all of its matches.

Baker will next take on one of the premiere wrestling programs in the country, as they travel to Iowa City, Iowa to take on the University of Iowa in a dual on Friday, Nov. 22.
