Shoemaker won his only match of the first session with a 4-3 win over Campbellsville's Tyler Alsip and then followed that up with a 13-6 win over University of Great Falls' Michael Ruiz.
Defending 184-pound NAIA All-American advanced to the next round after a 6-5 loss to defending NAIA National Champion Jameel Bryant of Lindsey Wilson College and then bounced back with a tough 3-2 win over Hastings' Joel Hernandez. He then fell to Southern Oregon's Tucker VanMatre.
Nick Haugen went 2-0 in the first session with a 7-5 win over Kyle Terry of Campbellsville and a 7-5 win over John Lynch of Northwestern College. He then fell to the University of Great Falls' Ryan Martin 5-1 to fall to the third-place bracket. Haugen then defeated Lindsey Wilson's Stephen Myers, 4-2 to wrap up an All-American spot.
And in the 125-pound class, Alan Callahan advanced to the next round with a 10-2 loss to Jake Stigall of Southern Oregon before falling to Campbellisville's Cody Steiner via pin in 5:16.
After the first session, John Hambleton was knocked out of the 184-pound bracket with a 6-1 loss to Jacob Abrams of Southern Oregon and then a 10-0 major decision loss to Indiana Tech's Taylor DeLong.
