U.S. News & World Report recently named Stormont Vail Health, the home of Baker University School of Nursing, one of 2016-2017’s Best Regional Hospitals. Stormont Vail was ranked second in the state and received the highest possible rating in five areas.

“Stormont Vail offers a prime learning environment for nursing students to deliver evidence-based care and contribute to quality patient outcomes,” said Dr. Bernadette Fetterolf, dean of Baker University School of Nursing. “Students are able to become involved with many nursing initiatives aimed at quality improvement, which facilitates the development of the skill sets required as graduates transition to the practice setting as RNs.”

Located in Topeka, Stormont Vail Health has been Baker University’s partner since the founding of the School of Nursing in 1991. “Baker University School of Nursing is proud to partner with Stormont Vail Health,” Fetterolf said.

Baker University School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and an online Master of Science in Nursing program. More than 96 percent of Baker students pass their National Council Licensure Exam on their first try, compared to the 83.04 percent national average and the 79.27 percent average for Kansas. After graduation, more than 95 percent of Baker nursing graduates staying in Kansas are licensed and employed within three months of graduation.
