Meet the Gessner Hall Staff
Jessie Riggs is a second-year graduate student at the University of Kansas where he studies higher education administration. He is the area coordinator for Gessner, the NLC and the Apartments. During his undergraduate experience he was involved in a variety of sports and on-campus groups. He loves bowling, collects pens and loves Baker because he enjoys helping and advising students as they develop professionally. Jessie is originally from Wellington, Kan., and attended Southwestern University where he studied liberal arts and sciences, law and legal studies, political science, and leadership studies.
Daniel Sumler is the senior resident assistant for Gessner Hall. He is junior physical education and health major at Baker. He is from Anderson, Mo., and came to Baker to play football and meet new people. He loves hunting, fishing, Nacho Cheese Doritos and the color blue. He looks forward to being an SRA and helping residents.
Jarrett Hobby is a sophomore psychology major from Osage City, Kan. He participates in Baker Serves and the Psychology Club, and he chose Baker because of the interactions between students and faculty. Jarrett is ambidextrous, and he loves being an RA because he likes hanging out with new people.
Dustin Turner is a senior computer science and business management major from Overbrook, Kan. He is involved in wrestling, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Phi Eta Sigma. He decided to come to Baker because of the wrestling program and the close-knit campus life. He enjoys video games, agriculture, working on tractors and being outdoors. He looks forward to being able to be a resource to any and all students.
James Newton is a sophomore computer science major from DeSoto, Kan. He enjoys reading, Speech Choir, being part of the tennis team, and eating pie. He chose Baker because he really enjoyed the atmosphere. He is looking forward to the learning experiences being an RA will bring.
Emerson "Trey" McGuire is a sophomore sociology major with an emphasis in criminal justice from Ashland, Mo. He enjoys ultimate Frisbee, fishing, and Butterfingers when he is not playing BU football. He chose Baker because he has always wanted to be a BU Wildcat. He is looking forward to meeting new residents and having a key to the toilet paper storage room.
