Intramurals Referee

Job Description

The intramurals referee is primarily responsible for officiating all Intramural activities during the academic year.

Expectations

  • Be on-site and punctual for all Intramural sessions
  • Assist the intramural assistant in all things related to the Intramural program
  • Behave in a professional manner when on duty or participating in Intramural activities
  • Demonstrate efficient and effective communication skills
  • Display sound abilities to resolve conflict situations and make decisions
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the entire Intramural sports program
  • Work well independently

Qualifications

  • Maintain a 2.00 cumulative GPA
  • Maintain full-time Baker University student status (enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hrs)
  • Remain in good standings as mandated by Baker University's conduct standards
  • Submit application by noon, August 28

Duties

  • Officiate all Intramural sporting competitions
  • Complete intramural rules and regulations training
  • Communicate to the intramural assistant with scheduling conflicts
  • Arrive at scheduled games at least 15 minutes early
  • Report game results to intramurals assistant at the end of each session
  • Answer questions from intramurals coordinator, assistant and participants
  • Address disruptions that may occur
  • Enforce Baker University policies and report all incidents and concerns in a timely manner
  • Wear issued uniform at all times while officiating all intramural activities
