Changing your Password
When you first use your Wildcat Mail account, you should change your password from your Social Security number. You may change your password at any time and are encouraged to change it at least every 6 months.

Passwords are an important way for you to protect yourself and your personal email. If you use something that can be easily guessed, you are opening yourself up for problems. If someone else uses your email they are impersonating you and can use your email for illegal or unethical purposes.

How to change your password

You must change your email password in the web-based Wildcat Mail. Using a Web browser like Internet Explorer, link to http://wildcat.bakeru.edu and logon. Once you have logged on, select the Change Password option from the dropdown menu in the upper right hand portion of the screen.

The next screen to appear will be the Password Change screen.

You must type the current password, the one you are changing, in the Old Password input box.
Next type in your new password in the Password input box.
Next re-type your new password in the Confirm input box.
Finally click on the Save button.
Next time you log onto Wildcat Mail, you must use your new password. If you have set your email reader (Outlook Express) to remember your password, make sure that you change your settings to not remember the password so that you can log on with the new password. You can re-set your settings to remember the new password at that time. If you have set up Outlook Express or any other email reader on more than one machine, you will need to repeat this process on all of these PCs, Macs, and/or laptops.
