Dr. Roger L. Boyd, director of natural areas and emeritus professor of biology, graduated from Baker University in 1969. He was a senior when the Baker Wetlands were transferred from the federal government to Baker. He received advanced degrees from Emporia State University and Colorado State University. He taught Wildlife Management and Wetland and Prairie Ecology along with eight other regular courses for 29 years before retiring from teaching in 2005. He has managed the Baker Wetlands since his father’s death in 1982.
Roger Boyd's Resume
Jonathan J. Boyd, refuge manager of the Baker Wetlands Complex, graduated from Baker University in 2000. He has worked in a variety of areas of the environmental field since graduation. Jon has been employed at Baker University since 2004 as head landscaper and transferred to the Wetlands Restoration Project in March 2009. He is the third generation of Boyds managing the Baker Wetlands. Jon is currently in residence at the project headquarters at 1365 N. 1250 Road.
