Throughout the year, President Long conducts university-wide talks and open-forum discussions to encourage communication and deeper interaction between members of the campus community. During the semester, the president also speaks at conferences and local community organizations on the subjects of leadership and education.

Campus Talks & Discussions

  • Town Halls and Special All-University Meetings | Each semester formal University-wide meetings are held in Baldwin City and Overland Park to provide updates and to answer questions.
  • University Cabinet | This group typically meets once a semester. Its open membership includes faculty, staff, students and interested community members who wish to participate. This group is made up of approximately 75 members and provides a broader perspective in reacting to drafts of initiatives and policies.
  • Coffee and Conversations | These are an opportunity for faculty and staff to ask questions and hear updates in an informal setting.
