Baker University offers outstanding opportunities for students in grades 9 through 12 to complete college courses while meeting high school graduation requirements.

- The concurrent credit program offers students the opportunity to take courses within the familiar setting of their high school or to participate in online self-paced courses.
- All courses are taught by highly qualified instructors who offer excellent experiences in learning as well as guidance and support.
- All Baker concurrent credit courses are accredited by the same body and transfer to other institutions in the same way as traditional Baker coursework.

Nursing School Opportunity
Students who plan to pursue a degree in nursing may take their nursing prerequisite courses through the concurrent credit program. This may give them the opportunity for preferred admissions into the School of Nursing.

Concurrent Credit FAQs

High school students in good standing at a concurrent credit partner school and who are in an approved concurrent credit class and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher are eligible to earn Baker University credit. A student’s readiness for concurrent credit courses will be determined by the quality of the student’s portfolio and by staff recommendation. Courses will vary between the school district, virtual school, and homeschool setting.

In your approved concurrent credit class, you must earn a C or higher to receive college credit.

Concurrent credit partnership students pay a reduced rate of $118 per credit hour, with a typical course equaling 3 credit hours. Some courses may be 1 or 4 hours of credit.

To transfer your earned college credits from Baker University to another university, you will need to fill out an online transcript request form and pay the transcript fee. You will need the mailing address for the recipient school’s registrar’s office or office of admissions, whichever address they choose.

High school and virtual school students who have additional questions about the enrollment process should see their high school counselor. For all students, grades may be discussed with your high school instructor or your virtual concurrent credit instructor.

The BakerU business office sends out Tax Forms each January/February. If you have not received one in that time, please contact the office at either business.office@bakerU.edu or 913.344.1204

Baker University uses a straight letter grade system: Plus and minus grades are not given. The only grades available to the instructor are A, B, C, D, and F.
A grade of “incomplete” is not an option for concurrent credit courses. Students should contact their school counselor in the case of exceptional circumstances.
