How to Apply to the School of Nursing
Admission to the School of Nursing is based on academic history, prerequisite cumulative grade point average, math and science prerequisite GPA, number of prerequisite courses completed, other degrees conferred, and an interview with faculty.
Step 1: Meet the Academic Requirements
Admission begins with a review of your academic history, including your prerequisite cumulative GPA, your math and science prerequisite GPA, and the number of prerequisite courses you’ve completed. Previous degrees earned are also considered as part of this evaluation. Unofficial transcripts only needed during application. Official copies not required until after admission.

After your materials are reviewed, you’ll participate in a faculty interview. This conversation allows you to demonstrate your communication skills, caring nature, personal integrity, accountability, ethical reasoning, and critical‑thinking abilities.

Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the nursing program, students must graduate from a state-approved high school or have an equivalent credential. All required prerequisite courses must be completed before starting the nursing program. Some students may be accepted conditionally while finishing these courses.
Applicants must have a minimum 2.70 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) in their prerequisite coursework, including math and science courses. Only prerequisite courses are used to calculate the GPA for admission. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher. Pass/Fail grades are not accepted unless the college confirms that a “Pass” is equal to a grade of C or better.
