The BIG Event | April 23, 2016

Join us for The Big Event, an annual national one-day community service project.

The Big Event was started at Texas A&M University for college students to say thanks to their communities. Help the Baker community say "Thank You" to Baldwin City and the surrounding area by volunteering with a variety of community partners!

Please note: If the site is not within walking distance, transportation is provided by Baker Serves. The first 60 students to register for the event will receive a free T-shirt!

Baldwin Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center ALL SLOTS FILLED

Volunteers will assist with painting projects and yard work at the facility.

9 a.m. - Noon

Volunteers needed: ALL SLOTS FILLED

Location: Baldwin City

Baldwin City Public Library ALL SLOTS FILLED

Volunteers will help clean and organize children's books.

9 a.m. - Noon

Volunteers needed: ALL SLOTS FILLED

Location: Baldwin City

CLO Terrace House ALL SLOTS FILLED

Volunteers will plant vegetables, herbs and flowers and help with general yard work.

10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Harvesters Topeka

Volunteers will collaborate with other independent volunteer groups to sort donated food items to help community members.

9 a.m. - Noon

Homespun Hill Farm

Volunteers will transplant trees that will grow into a windbreak for the animals that Homespun Hill Farm raises and assist in cleaning projects.

9 a.m. - Noon

Lawrence Humane Society ALL SLOTS FILLED

Volunteers will assist with various cleaning, organizational, and creative projects. There may be an opportunity to meet some animals at the conclusion of the event.
