What is the Business Fellows Pathway?
The Business Fellows Pathway offers high-achieving students early mentorship, leadership development, industry exposure, and real-world consulting experiences. This program is designed for students majoring in accounting, business, economics, international business, and sports administration.

Why Join the Business Fellows Pathway?
The Business Fellows experience is built on four pillars.
Mentorship
- Partner with a Baker grad whose mentorship aligns with your career interests.
- Participate in a Meet Your Mentor event and maintain ongoing mentor relationships.
- Build relationships with student mentors and, as a senior Fellow, guide new students entering the pathway and build leadership experience.
Professional Development
- Participate in leadership workshops, skill-building events, industry site visits, and real-world consulting projects with business organizations.
- Take part in industry-sponsored consulting projects and business competitions.
- Participate in leadership and career preparation events within the department and across the Fellows Program.
Service Learning
- Design and lead community service projects with department faculty guidance.
- Represent the department at the Majors Fair, BU Preview, and other university events.
- Participate in study abroad programs that include a service-learning component.
Research & Creative Activity
- Business Fellows in data analytics complete BS 450 Data Projects and present research at a regional analytics conference.
- Research completed through BS 481 or EC 400 is submitted to regional business and economics conferences.
The Fellows Experience: Year by Year
Year 1: Build Your Foundation
- Participate in structured advising with Career Services and academic advisors.
- Partner with a student mentor who offers guidance during your transition to Baker.
- Complete at least 10 hours of community service.
Years 2-4: Deepen Your Experience
- Enter a specialized track of courses determined by your major.
- Engage in industry exploration and consulting projects.
- Maintain mentor relationships and participate in leadership opportunities.
- Submit research for presentation at regional conferences.
