KC SCHOLARS | Scholarships for Adult Learners

Baker University has partnered with KC Scholars to offer scholarships to adult learners in the Kansas City area. The adult learner scholarship is given to adults who have completed some college, but don’t have a degree.

What Is KC Scholars?

KC Scholars is a scholarship and college savings program for low- to moderate-income students living in the greater Kansas City area. It was developed with input and guidance from more than 70 community members.

Adult Learner Scholarship

The adult learner scholarship provides up to $5,000 a year, renewable for up to five years.

The program is designed for low- or modest-income students who have earned some college credits and plan to go back to school. They must be 24 or older at the time of college enrollment and reside in one of the following six counties: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte (Missouri) or Johnson and Wyandotte (Kansas). See full list of requirements.

To remain eligible once enrolled in college, students must meet minimum annual requirements and complete a short renewal application each year to determine continued eligibility. They must also maintain continuous enrollment, either full time or part time.
