Olivia Beins, ’17, named one of Ingram’s 20 in Their Twenties

Baker University alumna Olivia Beins was named to Ingram’s magazine “20 in Their Twenties” list, which appears in this month’s issue. Beins joins the 12th class of 20 in Their Twenties, which recognizes the achievements and promise of the area’s young entrepreneurs as well as those who demonstrate entrepreneurial qualities and thinking on behalf of their employers.

Beins serves as a product manager at C2FO, a financial technology company based in Leawood, Kansas, that provides working capital solutions to businesses of all sizes. She works with small and large business stakeholders and software development teams to guide the development of new features and products.

“This recognition is an enormous honor,” Beins said. “I consider myself kind of a ‘put your head down and work quietly’ sort of person, so it is exciting to be seen and to know my work is making an impact. This is not an honor that can be earned alone. My parents, my friends, my Baker professors, my colleagues at C2FO, and innumerable others have provided me with the opportunities that made me worthy of the distinction.”

Beins graduated from Baker University in 2017 summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in International Business and minors in Spanish and economics. She was recognized by Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for 2015 and 2016. She also won Baker’s 2017 Fran Jabara Leadership Award for excellence in leadership and academic commitment.

“My Baker experience helped me develop both the hard skills and soft skills needed for my career. Classes like Quantitative Analysis, Business Law, and International Economics gave me concrete knowledge and skills that I use every day working in the finance space. I also credit classes like Intercultural Communication and the various Quest classes I took with helping me develop the communication skills necessary to succeed,” Beins said. “However, the arguably more important part of my Baker experience was being immersed in a community that supported me and made me believe that I could tackle my goals. The students, faculty, and staff at Baker come together to form an environment that nurtures talent in a remarkable way that I believe sets Baker grads apart from the rest.”
