Wildcats Win Third Straight

MARSHALL, Mo. – The Baker University women's basketball team picked up its third straight conference victory on Saturday with a 79-65 win over Missouri Valley and picked up the season sweep over the Vikings.

Baker improves to14-8 overall and 7-3 in the HAAC and is now in third-place all alone in the conference standings.

Mo Valley falls to 6-17 and 3-8 in the HAAC and have lost 11 of its last 13 games. Rashida Simpson had another double-double for the Wildcats with her 12 points and 17 rebounds.

Alisha Fanshier led the team in scoring with 19 and BriAnna Garza added 14 with three assists.

Baker led throughout, leading 42-30 at halftime and outscored the Vikings 37-35. There were no lead changes or ties in the contest.

Rayna Smith led Mo Valley in scoring with 17 points and the Vikings shot just 52.9-percent from the free-throw line.

The Wildcats connected on nine three-point field goals in the game and six Wildcats connected on three's including Avery Vogts who was a perfect 2-of-2 from beyond the arc.

The Wildcats will return home on Thursday, Jan. 31 to take on Graceland University at 5:30 p.m.
