BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University men's basketball team earned its first win of the season Saturday afternoon, after its 73-68 win over Ottawa at the HAAC/KCAC Classic.

Saturday marked the Wildcats second game in the HAAC/KCAC Classic on the campus of Peru State in Peru, Neb.

E.J. Carter scored a team high 17 points, while Jauan Wilson and Todd Johnston also notched double figures with Wilson scoring 15 points and Johnston adding 14.

The Wildcats shot 46.6 percent from the field, and hit 14-of-20 free throws. The Braves shot 40-percent from the floor and were only 5-of-18 from beyond the arc for 27.8 percent.

Despite getting outrebounded 38 to 27, the Wildcats forced 20 turnovers. Eric Watson led the team with seven boards and Wilson had a team high five steals.

Baker will next host Kansas Wesleyan Tuesday Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. inside Collins gym for its home opener.
