Baker advances to its third straight trip to the final site of the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship and defeated Bellevue, 2-1, in last seasons Opening Round also at Liston Stadium.
This time the Wildcats will travel to Orange Beach, Ala., to compete in the national tournament which runs from Nov. 26-Dec. 1.
Baker will next take on No. 3 seeded Vanguard University on Monday, Nov. 26 at 1:30 p.m. CST. Vanguard defeated Embry-Riddle University (Ariz.), 3-0, on Saturday at home to advance to the final site.
The Wildcats scored first quickly on a ball that was sent from the middle of the field by Jordan Dolbin and found the foot of Alexa Fryer right in front of the box and the sophomore from Fort Collins, Colo., knocked it past Bellevue's keeper Caitlin Steir to put Baker up, 1-0.
Jenica Bloom then tied things up in the 52nd minute for the Bruins, but that didn't last long as Dolbin put one in the back of the net just one minute later to give Baker the 2-1 lead for good.
The senior leader, Dolbin led all players with six shots taken and fellow First-Team All-HAAC recipient Shelby Schiraldi was second on the team with five shots.
The Bruins took eight shots on the night with four on goal, and the Wildcats Rachel Theobald had three saves.
Bloom led Bellevue with four shots and three other Bruins took one shot apiece.
