BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University women's soccer team shut out No. 8 nationally ranked Oklahoma City University 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at North Park after an impressive goal from Shelby Schiraldi in the first half.

Schiraldi squared up for a free kick in the 32nd minute on Saturday near the far right corner of OCU's goal. From about 25 yards out, the junior defender bent the free kick high enough above all players on the field and over the outstretched arms of OCU keeper Alissa Reed and went untouched into the back of the net to give Baker the lead and what proved to be game-winning goal.

The Wildcats held the Stars to just eight shots and three shots on goal and Rachel Theobald garnered her second straight shutout in goal.

Baker took nine shots with three on goal and Krista Hooper tied Schiraldi for the team lead in shots with three.

Gabrielle Betsch, Ashley Mauck and Keeley Atkin took the other three shots for Baker.
