The Baker University choirs and Johnson County Chorus will perform its Masterworks Concert, featuring the Midwest premiere of Mark Hayes' Requiem, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 4, at Rice Auditorium on the Baldwin City campus. Admission is free.
Cathy Crispino and Anita Cyrier will conduct the choirs. The 35-minute work for chorus and chamber orchestra will feature baritone soloist Joshua Lawlor. The program will also include Ron Nelson's Fanfare for a Festival, Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus, and Festival Piece on 'St. Anne' by Eugene Butler, former director of the Johnson County Chorus.

Built in 1955 and renovated in 1983, Rice Auditorium is the venue used by most of Baker’s visiting lecturers and performing artists. Rice is also the stage for Baker’s largest plays, performed and directed by the Theatre Department. The Music Department also utilizes Rice Auditorium to perform a variety of concerts. The auditorium, which seats approximately 880 people, is a great location that hosts a variety of intellectual and enjoyable events for students and the communities near Baldwin City. Rice Auditorium is handicap accessible.
