Before you begin working, you must complete required employment paperwork with the Office of Financial Aid.

  • Report hours worked using clear time ranges (e.g., 8 a.m.–12 p.m.).
  • Round to the nearest 15 minutes.
  • Total your hours daily and weekly.
  • Make sure both you and your supervisor sign the time sheet—signatures must be legible.
  • Either you or your supervisor must submit the completed time sheet to the Financial Aid Office by the deadline.

When Students May Not Work

To protect your academic success and personal well‑being, students may not work:

  • During scheduled class times (unless the class was canceled or released early; note this on your time sheet).
  • More than 8 hours per day.
  • More than 4 hours without a 15‑minute break.
  • More than 20 hours per week during the academic year.
  • More than 40 hours per week in the summer (20 hours if enrolled in summer courses).

Please remember:
Your work award may exceed the hours allowed for a specific job. Students with multiple positions must stay within their maximum award hours.
