The U.S. Department of Education released its annual College Scorecard last week, which revealed that Baker University graduates on average earn higher salaries than their workforce peers who graduated from other universities in Kansas.

The median salary of Baker alumni 10 years after graduation is the highest among graduates from schools in Kansas at $48,800. Baker’s average is $4,000 higher than third-ranked University of Kansas and $5,500 higher than fourth-ranked Kansas State University.

“Baker prides itself on the return on investment we provide our students and their families,” Danielle Yearout, vice president for enrollment management, said. “When you look at these numbers, combined with the fact that more than 98 percent of our graduates are employed full time or enrolled in graduate school within six months of graduation, it becomes clear that Baker University is a terrific value.”

According to the U.S. Department of Education, the scorecard is designed to “increase transparency, putting the power in the hands of the public—from those choosing colleges to those improving college quality—to see how well different schools are serving their students.” The College Scorecard is produced using several reliable data sets: the National Student Loan Data System, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, and the Department of Treasury.
