The Arbor Day Foundation announced Baker University as a Tree Campus USA for its commitment to encouraging students, faculty, and staff to care for our planet’s tree resources.

Baker is one of only 364 colleges in the nation to receive this recognition and was the first school to be recognized in the state.

“We here at Baker University are honored to receive the Tree Campus USA distinction for the eighth year in a row,” said President Lynne Murray. “We are proud of the top-ranked education we provide our students, preparing them for successful careers and lives of significance. Part of their experience at Baker includes participation in service projects that improve our environment. Equally significant is the commitment of our grounds crew to improve our students’ experience.”

Tree Campus USA is a national program launched in 2008 by the Arbor Day Foundation to honor colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging their students and staff in the spirit of conservation.
