Commencement ceremony for undergraduate degrees held May 19

Baker University will honor graduates of its College of Arts and Sciences, School of Nursing, and School of Education with a commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at the George F. Collins, Jr. Sports and Convention Center on the Baldwin City campus.

Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Dr. Darcy Russell will deliver the commencement address. A graduate of Baker University, Dr. Russell’s research has been published in scientific journals, and she has contributed to chapters in two books on virology. After serving on the faculty at Washington and Lee University, in Lexington, Virginia, for nine years, Dr. Russell returned to Baker as a professor in 1998. She was given the Distinguished Faculty Award by her colleagues and selected as an exemplary teacher by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church in 2002. She was appointed to the role of dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in 2018.
