Adobe Photoshop Basics

Students will learn design basics and production skills using the program Adobe Photoshop. Students will visually step through the process of creating images, manipulating them and then optimizing them for print or the web. This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore the capability of the computer to produce visual imagery and to apply graphic techniques.

Required Textbook/Materials
Adobe Photoshop software-CS6 or Creative Cloud version. Students can download a free trial CC version from Adobe. Walmart sells an Adobe Photoshop Elements program-a scaled down version of the full-blown program for around $70. Also, there may be a computer in the local school district with this software on it already that can be checked out or the district may have a site license purchased and it could possibly be installed on the teacher’s school computer.
