The Anxious Generation

Monday, January 12, 2026 @ 12:00 am - Sunday, March 1, 2026 @ 12:00 am

In this course, educators will explore strategies from Jonathan Haidt’s book “The Anxious Generation” to address the epidemic of teen mental illness and its impact in the K-12 classroom. They will examine the decline of play-based childhood, the impacts of the phone-based childhood, and the mechanisms interfering with children’s development. Participants will learn about Haidt’s call to action and actionable steps for parents, teachers, schools, tech companies, and governments to combat the epidemic of mental illness. By the course’s end, educators will have the tools to integrate these insights into their teaching practices, creating a healthier and more supportive environment for K-12 students.
