Technology support for every Baker University student, faculty member, and staff member.

If you are experiencing a technology issue, check out the list below of known problems first.

The Baker University Help Desk provides reliable, friendly, and timely technology support across all Baker locations, including the Baldwin City campus, the Stormont Vail Health campus in Topeka, the School of Education, and the School of Professional and Graduate Studies. 

Whether you need help accessing your email, troubleshooting Baker 360, connecting to WiFi, or installing software, our IT team is here to ensure your tools work when you need them. 

From classroom technology and computer labs to online learning and device support, the Help Desk is your central point of contact for all technology questions. 

  • Faculty: If you cannot log into the portal because it redirects to the student login, please clear your browser’s cache or open the link in a new incognito window. Feel free to still put in a ticket to notify us.

  • If you are having trouble logging into common Baker services (email, Moodle, Portal, applications, Library databases), you can manage and recover your password at http://access.bakerU.edu

PC

  • OS = Windows 10 or higher, 11 recommended
  • Processor = i5 or higher
  • Memory = 16gb RAM or higher
  • Hard drive = SSD (Solid state drive), 500gb or higher
  • Graphics card = 512 MB video memory or higher
  • Office is provided for Baker Students
  • Dell has a store just for Baker University students.

Mac

  • OS = Ventura or newer
  • Processor = M1 or higher
  • Memory = 8 GB or higher
  • Hard drive = 256 SSD or higher

  • Apple education store offers some discounts.

Electronic Resources for Students

  • You are required to register your student account on the Access Baker site. This service allows you to change your password any time.

  • Moodle

    Video Tutorial
    • On-ground and nontraditional students: Your login credentials are the same ones you use to log in to your student email account.
    • Continuing education and concurrent credit students: Your credentials are those that were sent to your email when you enrolled.

  • Password

    Grades &Transcript
    • Your grades are available under Academics > My Grades.
    • Request your official transcript at bakerU.edu/transcripts
    • Print a free unofficial transcript from your Baker Portal under Academics > Transcript.
    Class Schedule
    • Access your class schedule: Academics > Your Class Schedule. Select the correct term in the drop-down.
    • View your courses by list by clicking on the List link next to View by.
    Textbook Information
    • Textbook information is found found under your class schedule.
    • Select your class from either the list of week view. If you select from list, click on Course Schedule details.
    • Scroll to the bottom of the page to view your textbook.

    Receipt Requests

    Request a receipt online. For students at the School of Professional and Graduates Studies and School of Education graduate programs only.

  • www.stu.bakerU.edu | Password: Reset your Baker Access password at https://access.bakeru.edu.

    Adding email to your phone: You must log into your email from a computer before adding the account to a mobile device.

    iPhone

    1. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account.
    2. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
    3. Enter your student email address and password and tap Next.
    4. For the server, enter office365.com and tap Next.
      If prompted for username and password, enter your email address and current email password.
    5. Choose what you want to sync and tap Save.

    Android

    1. Tap Settings > Accounts > Add Account.
    2. Tap Microsoft Exchange.
    3. Enter your student email address and password and tap Next.
    4. For the server, enter office365.com and tap Next.
      If prompted for username and password, enter your email address and current email password.
    5. Choose what you want to sync and tap Save.
  • Password

    If you’ve signed up for the self-service password portal, you can reset your Moodle/library/wireless password by visiting https://access.bakerU.edu and answering your security questions.

  • The Baker Help Desk is unable to help with Watermark issues.

  • Student Wi-Fi on campus

    1.  

      1. Turn on your wireless on your device and connect to BUWIFIStudent.
      2. Enter your full username and password like you would for email.
      3. If it asks, accept the security certificate. If prompted, choose Request Status and/or Trust.

    (Chromebooks and some other devices require additional steps. Contact the help desk for assistance if you have connection issues.)

    Wireless in Student Housing

    • Please contact Student Life for the Wi-Fi information and how to connect.
    • If you have your wireless information for your student housing and are not able to connect, please submit a help desk ticket.

  • Windows 10 and 11 come with an antivirus program called Windows Defender, and its use is highly recommended.

    This should program should be enabled by default, but if you are not sure, please review these instructions.

  • Installing Microsoft Office Products

    1. Go to the Microsoft Office website (you must use this URL) https://www.office.com/
    2. Log in using your @stu.bakerU.edu credentials
    3. Once you are logged in you will see the Home page—there is a drop-down box on the right side of the page that says “Install and more.” Click the down arrow and choose Install Microsoft 365 apps.
