First of two commencement ceremonies held May 11

Baker University will honor graduates of its undergraduate and master’s programs at the School of Professional and Graduate Studies, master’s and doctoral programs at the School of Education, and master’s program from the School of Nursing at a commencement ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, at the George F. Collins, Jr. Sports and Convention Center on the Baldwin City campus.

Dr. Tes Mehring, a professor in the School of Education, will deliver the commencement address. An educator for 44 years, Dr. Mehring has served as president of the National Teachers Hall of Fame, the Teacher Education Council of State Colleges and Universities, Kansas Council for Learning Disabilities, and the Kansas Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. She has received numerous national teaching awards and has taught and served as the dean of schools of education and as provost at Emporia State University and Baker University. For the past seven years, Dr. Mehring has served Baker University as the major advisor to 46 doctoral students and as a teacher in the Doctor of Education in Leadership in Higher Education program.
