Workshop Overview
Join us on Monday, March 23 for Baker’s Solo and Ensemble Workshop. You’ll perform your prepared piece for a studio professor, then use the remaining time for individualized feedback and coaching.
This clinic is designed to help you feel confident, prepared, and performance ready.
Cost & Format
- Fee: $30
- Session length: 30 minutes
- Format: One-on-one lesson with your assigned professor
Your full 30-minute window is dedicated to you. After you perform, you’ll use the remaining time to ask questions, review problem spots, and apply real-time feedback.
Work With a Specialist on Your Instrument
You’ll be paired with a professor who specializes in your instrument family:
- Brass – led by Logan Dingus
- Woodwinds – led by adjunct professor Katie Varadi
- Percussion – led by adjunct professor Tom Corbridge
Each 30-minute session is a private lesson focused on you—your sound, your musicality, and your goals.
What Your Session Includes
During your 30-minute clinic, you will:
- Perform your solo or ensemble piece for your assigned professor.
- Receive targeted feedback on tone, technique, rhythm, and expression.
- Get practical suggestions you can use right away in rehearsals.
- Leave with clear next steps to refine your performance.
This workshop is ideal preparation for solo and ensemble festivals, auditions, juries, and other performances.
Be Ready to Play
To get the most out of your session, please come prepared with:
- Your solo or ensemble music
- Your instrument and any needed accessories (reeds, sticks, mallets, valve oil, etc.)
- A performance-ready version of your piece, or as close as possible
You don’t need to be perfect—that’s why this workshop exists. We’ll meet you where you are and help you take the next step.
Questions?
If you have questions about the workshop, instrument placement, or scheduling, please contact the music department office or your director.
