Explore the global stage

Students of international studies are encouraged to focus outward and explore other cultures and issues of globalization to develop a well-rounded worldview that informs their everyday life as a citizen of the world.

The understanding of international affairs, cultures, and relationships are a vital part of any modern education.

The requirement to study abroad allows students to learn about a new culture and experience the interactions of people from different cultures so prevalent in modern business, politics, and almost any industry.

Global Citizenship

Baker makes studying abroad easy, allowing most Baker financial awards and scholarships to be applied directly to study abroad for one full semester. Your first-hand exposure to an international setting will help you grow as a scholar of international affairs.

Create Your Own Major

Baker works with each student to design a major focusing on the international topics of choice, drawing from many disciplines on campus to create a major that caters to your international interests and objectives.

Put It In Writing

The Vision is a student-produced multilingual newsletter that features articles pertaining to international issues. Students are encouraged to contribute articles written in their language of study and English or to serve in an editorial capacity.

Explore A New World

Through linguistic, cultural, and historical studies, students leave Baker with an enhanced ability to communicate internationally and a heightened awareness of international issues.
