In this class you will learn the 12 characteristics of inclusive education as identified by the Working Forum of Inclusive Education. Through discussion, short weekly readings, video presentations and best practices in self-assessment (and administrator/building assessments) you will explore 15 indicators of inclusive education. This course will challenge your knowledge and understanding of inclusive education. It will also provide you with the tools necessary to help reinvent the school in which you teach and help guide the direction moving forward for an all-inclusive educational environment. This course is designed to help you evaluate and become familiar with supports regarding inclusive education in your building. And if so inclined (but not mandatory) investigate some of the topics in your own building and advocate for a more inclusive education.
