Poetry accepted for national creative writing magazine

Baldwin City, Kan. — Carly Berblinger, a senior sociology and English major from Buhler, Kan., has had poetry accepted by the national editorial staff of The Rectangle, a creative writing magazine published annually by Sigma Tau Delta, the international undergraduate honor society for English.

Work showcased in the magazine has been selected through a highly competitive process as it is judged against all creative works submitted by student writers across the United States. “Root,” one of the poems Berblinger wrote for Baker University’s advanced poetry workshop, will appear in the 2015 issue of the magazine.

Berblinger also has been invited to present two of her poems at this year’s Rectangle Publication Reading, a major event marking the roll out of this year’s issue. She will read for a national audience on opening night of Sigma Tau Delta International 2015, held March 18-21 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Professor Marti Mihalyi, assistant professor of English, sponsors Baker’s Epsilon Sigma chapter.
