At Baker, it’s not uncommon to see a freshman playing a lead role in a Shakespearean tragedy or a senior slinging nursery rhymes in a children’s play. Our award-winning theatre students thrive and learn by presenting an exciting and innovative production each semester and working closely with faculty who have professional experience in the fields they teach.
You will be able to hone your talents in the fine arts while also learning skills that will add depth and breadth to your chosen major. Businesses are looking for employees with experience in creative thinking and collaboration, skills that are honed in the theatre classroom!
A theatre minor prepares students for careers in education, fine arts, and the humanities while providing an exciting addition to their academic experience.
Baker theatre students bring home awards in acting and technical theatre skills in highly competitive categories at events such as the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.
Students who choose to minor in theatre have the opportunity to explore internships at theatres in Kansas City and beyond.
