Theatre Scholarships

Baker offers scholarships to theatre majors and nontheatre majors for their participation in Baker University theatre productions and activities. High school juniors are encouraged to audition.

Theatre Scholarship Audition Days
Audition early to combine your music scholarship with an academic award based on high school GPA and ACT score.

Saturday, March 7, 2020

 Priority will be given to applications received before March 7.

In addition to the application, you must also do the following:

  • Performance: Schedule an in-person performance audition or submit a video audition. 
  • Tech and design:  Submit a portfolio.

Recommendation Form

Arrange for two recommendations from someone familiar with your theatre experience.

Email the following link and your area of major interest (acting, directing, tech and design, theatre education) to two people best qualified to know your ability in this area:

You may submit an optional resume that focuses on your theatre experience in addition to your audition and portfolio.

Performance Audition

Prepare two memorized monologues that show off your best acting and also show variety in your acting. Each should be about a minute and a half long. 

You may complete the audition in person or provide a URL for a video audition.

Design & Tech Portfolio

Submit a portfolio of drawings, sketches and photographs of production work or other art or craft work. Include five to 10 featured images and anything else that will show us where your talents lie.

If you have been asked to complete this form, the student is in the process of applying for a scholarship from the Department of Theatre at Baker University. Your frank appraisal of the applicant’s potential as a student will be appreciated.
