Online Interdisciplinary Studies Degree Curriculum

Students must earn a minimum of 39 credit hours, which includes courswork in two disciplines and a research project or internship course. A minimum of 18 credit hours must be earned in each discipline. A minimum of 6 credit hours in each discipline must be upper-college level, with a minimum of 15 total upper-college credits. Students will develop a personalized interdisciplinary studies degree plan with an academic advisor.

Students may capitalize on work already completed at other colleges by transferring college credits to the online interdisciplinary studies degree program. Students may transfer in up to 12 hours in one discipline. A minimum of 30 upper-level hours of coursework must be taken in residency. Courses taken at regionally accredited or candidate-status postsecondary institutions with grades of C- or better are granted full transfer credit with the following limitations:

  • Technical courses are accepted up to a limit of 12 credit hours.
  • Field experiences are accepted up to a limit of 6 credit hours. This includes courses such as internships, practicums, clinical courses, and on-the-job training.

Undergraduate-level courses completed before application to the interdisciplinary studies degree program are evaluated at the time of application.
